BENCH PRESS | WIDE GRIP | POSITIVE ANGLE

BENCH PRESS | WIDE GRIP | POSITIVE ANGLE

Pressing a barbell on an inclined bench, when your head is pointing upwards and the angle of the torso is 30-40 degrees relative to the horizon, gives a focused load to the upper part of the pectoralis major muscle. There are many opinions about the biomechanics of the pectoral muscles, but the experience of famous athletes suggests that focusing the load ensures the development of exactly the area that the load is focused on. In other words, rock the top of your chest hard and don't worry about the result, the top will definitely grow and take shape.

There are few nuances in this type of barbell press. If your muscles are stretched enough, aim to lower the bar as low as possible, onto your collarbones. But do not forget about safety, the thoracic fascia is not very sensitive and not very elastic, they are easy to injure. The grip of the neck should not be as wide as in bench press on a horizontal bench, but 15-20 cm narrower. This is also important for the safety of the exercise.
